- Hand Made Garifuna Drums
- Garifuna drum carved from a single log, covered with a single membrane of goat or dear skin stretched over it. There are tuning pegs on the exterior inserted between the ropes, which connect to the rim. On the top of the drum, three guitar strings or fish line, which produce a unique vibrant timbre sounds and resonance.
- Primero is the tenor or lead drum within a traditional ensemble, directs and indicates rhythmic musical changes and calls the songs for the others’ responses with the lead singer or “Gayusa”. Segunda drum is similar to the Primero, but larger in diameter.
